Wanted: Fashion Consultant

I recently bought a new sweater, but I need a shirt to go with that sweater. I currently own two shirts that I think might work, but I'm not sure. See the pictures below. Do you have any thoughts? If the pictures aren't clear enough, one shirt has a white collar with thin white and light blue vertical stripes on the rest of the shirt. The other one is mostly a pastel/bright green with thin white vertical stripes. Do I need a totally different shirt? If so, what should it look like?

Clothed or Naked?

I'm working on a longer and more thought-provoking blog entry, but for now I'll post this quick thought to tide you over. As I was driving past a funeral home the other day, I noticed that their sign advertised cremation services in addition to the usual burial funeral services, and that got me wondering. When people are cremated, do they put them in the oven with or without their clothes? At first thought it seemed like you would keep the clothes on since we bury people with their clothes on, but on second thought I figured they would do it without clothes so that you don't end up with any belt buckles or pieces of metal or stuff in the ashes. But maybe the oven is hot enough to make them disintegrate? What do you think? By the way, when I posed this question to the other people in the car with me at the time, all they did was laugh. Feel free to do that too.

Why I Didn't Join The Military

My cube at work - it does seem to support the personality test's claim of not being very organized. I do more of a "pile file" system. I believe my cube is the regulation 6'x8' size. My excuse for this being so messy is that I expend all my orderliness on my work and keeping things organized in my head, so I don't have anything left for keeping my physical living space clean.

Table 1. Personality Test Results.

You are neither a subdued loner nor a jovial chatterbox. You enjoy time with others but also time alone. You are generally calm and composed, reacting moderately well to situations that most people would describe as stressful. As a practical person you like to think in plain and simple terms. Others describe you as down-to-earth, practical, and conservative. People see you as tough, critical, and uncompromising and you have less concern with others' needs than with your own. You are reasonably reliable, organized, and self-controlled.

I always knew I wasn't the life of the party, but I'm not sure that I'm quite this boring....my consolation is that my adventure scores came out high.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Unlike most Thanksgivings, I actually stayed home and didn't travel more than 30 miles from my house. Since I recently finished traveling a whole bunch for work and fun and was in ND 3 weeks ago, I decided to stay home. Luckily, I didn't miss out on any turkey or stuffing though. Thursday evening I went to some friends' house and we had turkey sandwiches. Then Friday I went to some different people's house where we had the full-blown traditional Thanksgiving. It was very delicious. Lefse isn't a tradition in these here parts, so unfortunately I didn't get my required dose. I was going to try to make some myself, but didn't find the time (plus I don't have all the necessary gear). It was kind of nice to chill out and read some books and not do much of anything for a change. Oh yeah, and I was thankful. I was thankful for my family and for the people here who treat me like family. Plus, I was thankful for some other stuff to, but I won't bother to list it all here.

Here's the squirrel that had his thanksgiving dinner on my front step. I didn't manage to get a picture of him actually eating the acorn, but I snapped a picture before he disappeared.

First REAL Post

I just had an interesting experience. I was sorting through my e-mail address book and came across my recently deceased grandpa's e-mail address. So I deleted it. That was weird. So here's to you, grandpa. I'll try something new and make my first blog post. Whoops.....when I went back and looked, I guess technically this is my 2nd post.

Under construction......this may take awhile depending on how motivated and busy with other things I am.
