Wanted: Fashion Consultant

I recently bought a new sweater, but I need a shirt to go with that sweater. I currently own two shirts that I think might work, but I'm not sure. See the pictures below. Do you have any thoughts? If the pictures aren't clear enough, one shirt has a white collar with thin white and light blue vertical stripes on the rest of the shirt. The other one is mostly a pastel/bright green with thin white vertical stripes. Do I need a totally different shirt? If so, what should it look like?

Since I'm on the fashion police squad, here's what I'd suggest. The first shirt (blue strips, white collar) would work as long as the shirt is left open down to the "v" (I don't think that would be too indecent, but I can't really tell how low the "v" goes).

Oh, and I really don't work for the fashion police...it's just a life-long ambition of mine...I've got a lot of learning to do before I'm qualified. *sigh* So take my suggestion with a grain of salt!

Hey Mel.....
too bad you didn't tell me you needed a red sweater; I have a spare one I could have given you. :)
As you well know, I would not be the 1st on the list of people you'd pose a fashion question to, so I don't have any particular opinion.

i thought of you watching this show the other night- where they have fashion people come in and totally throw everything out of your closet and give you like 1000 to go buy new clothe after they tell you how to dress better! reminded me of college when i threw out all your holey socks and when we cut up your old faithful jean skirt to make your very first mini skirt!!! those were the days
