Opining
I'm nearing the bottom of my herbal tea box, which means I'm using up all the unusual flavors like Orange Spice. I must say, although it's not my favorite, Pomegranate Pizazz exceeds my expectations.
Little Miss Snacky Cakes, thanks for coming out of the woodwork. I'm guessing you think Whistler is the century's worst tourist trap in Canada, and there's probably a better "local" ski hill we should go to around there. But, being ignorant of all those things, the trip is booked and paid for, and we're going for the run-of-the-mill experience where we'll pay $15 for lunch at the lodge and get some cement-like snow. It's probably similar to how I prefer to go to Bridger Bowl in Montana instead of going to Big Sky. I'll keep your place in mind next time - free room and board sounds very attractive (I'm assuming the hospitality would also be exceptional). How many people can you lodge at once? Just wondering how many other friends I can invite along..... :-P Oh, and what's your nearest airport? Are you a serial killer? How many degrees of association will it take before you know someone I know?
I had to take the eye test to renew my driver's license this week, and there was something kind of strange about it - maybe somebody has knowledge on this. When I went to read the line they asked me to read, there were three columns in the line. The middle column was crystal clear, but the two outer columns appeared as though they were flickering at an almost imperceptible frequency to the human eye. However, you could still see the flickering, and it seemed to make it a little blurry. Is that some special eye test, or is the equipment made cheaply or have something wrong with it? Dr. Animal Killer, do I need to come in early for my eye appointment? I was not impressed with the long wait either - I should have stopped at Subway beforehand and eaten while I waited. Who would have thought it would be so busy there from 12:45 to 1:45 PM? I was thinking it would have been after the noontime rush.

Oh dear. How to communicate other than on the blog comments? The closest airport to here is Calgary, Alberta. But, by next winter we'll be in a different mountain range. There's a ski hill near by - about a 40 minute drive. The one here is 12 minutes from our door to the parking lot. But - you could come this summer to a B.C. convention. We'll be close to one, if we ever get moved. 3 double bedrooms upstairs and lots of floor space at the new place. 5 double bedrooms here but I think you'll be too late. As for how do I know you? I have no idea. I hopped around and found The Chairman's wife blog for my 3 times a week chuckle and you appeared on there. I'm nosy but do so enjoy the blogs from Down South.
Miss Snacky Cakes (where did that come from anyhow?)
Miss Snacky Cakes,
You stated your name as Debbie (no last name), in the US we have a brand name of Little Debbie Snack Cakes. See www.littledebbie.com
Oh brother!! That's all I needed to hear - a snack cake named after me. Wonder how many Weight Watcher points are in one of them? I have a cousin in Montana. Lorna Williams. Might you know her? That's about as close as I can come to someone I know that you might know. Also read This Front Porch and have met Alison once.
Debbie
I'm a transplanted Montanan and do know your cousin. I'm also an aunt of MelBMarvis. We have some Canadian connections also. You know I think you can send private emails on blogs as I did once to a lady that I knew as a teenager when I was "older" with 3 little kids. She did remember me but I wasn't in her circle of friends. :) And it might make a difference on how the blog is set up.
Believe it or not, it took me a while to get the connection of your name for your eye doctor!
