2013 Journal of Amazing Things - Week #20
Things I found amazing this week:
1. Birds - I saw tons of them on my kayak excursion today. The blue heron I saw was the highlight of the paddle, but I didn't get a good picture because the sun was going down and they like to hug the shoreline in the shadows. I also saw ducks, red winged blackbirds, killdeer, geese, and some other ones I didn't recognize.
2. Perspective - I don't really have a picture for this, just a story. I often sit in the front row at GM because there are open chairs there and I feel bad taking chairs further back that people who have kids might need. Last week, one of the young mothers was at GM by herself and sat next to me. She was at GM by herself on mother's day because her kids were sick. But after GM, she turned to me with a big smile and exclaimed how nice it was to sit in the front row where it was quiet, and she didn't have to leave GM once. It's the little things that often count the most.

I really enjoyed the 'perspective' story!
Yep....to listen without distractions is certainly a wonderful thing - whether it's free of external or free of internal distractions.....
both in GM and even in quiet place of sanctuary "alone."
