That Time of Year

For the record, I turned on my furnace this evening.  The thermostat inside said 61, and the weather prediction was for temps down into the 30's tonight, so I decided to say "uncle".  I could probably have toughed it out and squeaked another week out since it's supposed to warm up a bit during the week (after being 50 degrees tomorrow).  But, I decided I like to be warm rather than hold myself to sometimes pointless personal challenges and chancing getting sick by sleeping in such cool temperatures.  Here is the past history of turning the furnace on.  Mid-October is a fairly common time it seems.

On an unrelated note, I have found in the last couple years that I have an allergy to cats.  It causes sneezing, runny nose, and a feeling of "restriction" in my chest / throat area that can lead to wheezing and feeling like I can't take a full breath.  It seems like Allegra helps with the sneezing and runny nose but does not address the chest feeling.  Does anyone out there have any tips on a something that might help quell that kind of chest inflammation that can cause wheezing from an allergy?

Have a good Sunday peeps.

I think you need an inhaler for that feeling in your chest. You could try holding a paper bag over your mouth and nose and taking slow deep breaths like you would for hyper ventilation. I stopped an asthma attack like that one when I didn't have an inhaler. But when allergies affect your lower respiratory tract, you likely need an inhaler.
