New Year 2019 and 2018 Reflection
I thought I'd start by stating the obvious - it's a new year! You may have noticed my thankfulness posts got seriously behind last year. I've still been faithfully keeping my log for the whole year so will try to slowly finish out 2018.
The question becomes then what to do about 2019. I'm still planning to keep my own personal thankfulness log, but I think I might not log it here on my blog on a weekly basis like before. I'd prefer to leave more blogging time for whatever comes to my mind. Maybe on a monthly basis I'll talk about a few things that I was especially thankful for.
In 2018 I fell behind on my blogging for a couple reasons. At the end of the year I was trying to do less stuff on the computer to take a break from the screens after spending all day at work. And part of the year I just wasn't feeling up to blogging and work was quite busy and taking a lot of time.
I won't promise I'll be super faithful in blogging in 2019 either, but we'll see what happens.
2018 was a chaotic and tough year. In some ways it was easier than 2017, but in some ways it was harder than 2017. The end was better than the beginning for sure. I spent two weeks of vacation in New Zealand, traveled to China for a week for work, spent a week in Barbados for vacation, went to ND to visit my parents five times, kayaked a whole bunch including joining a local kayaking group, joined a couple three-week exercise and healthy eating support groups, had three different bosses, sat in three different cubicles, worked on 3 different circuit boards plus solved 2 quality issues on 2 other circuit boards, and made progress on resolving some personal emotional stuff.
Oh, and a new year usually means a new robotics challenge. Destination Deep Space. Check it out:
I'm looking forward to a brighter 2019.
